šµļøāāļø Siri Spying Payout | Apple is paying out $95 million over claims that Siri secretly recorded users without consent. A Visit to the Digital Wellness Lab š
Last week, Joshua and Melvin had the opportunity to visit our partners at the Digital Wellness Lab at Boston Children's Hospital. They sat down with Dr. Michael Rich (aka The Mediatrician) and Dr. Meredith Gansnerāboth authors, researchers, Boston Childrenās clinicians, and Harvard Medical School educatorsāwho are leading voices in understanding how screen time impacts kids.
They also interviewed several Harvard students about their personal relationships with technologyāhow it's shaped their habits, mental health, and daily lives.
Here are a few of their takeaways from the many conversations:
PRESENCE - Your presence as a parent in your childās life is greater than any gift or opportunity you could give them.
FREE PLAY - Instead of more screen time, our kids need more free play. āI would much rather fix a broken arm than a broken spirit.ā - Dr. Rich
BOREDOM - Todayās kids are facing a major deficit of boredom, a necessity for their development and natural curiosity. Some of the greatest ideas in history have come from innovators who had margin to think.
HOPE - Donāt give up. āItās never too late to teach your kids how to use their devices responsibly.ā - Dr. Gansner
